The multiple-profile collection of decorative and applied art and the jewelry collection jointly number 4000 items. The collections include objects made of precious metals, tin, porcelain, glass, wood and other materials, used in the 9th - 20th centuries, of Byzantine, Russian and western European origin.

The most valuable part of the collection comprises articles of the Old Russian jeweler's art of the 11th - 17th centuries. All of them come from sacristies of local churches and monasteries and range from ordinary works, interesting only from the historical point of view, to masterpieces of truly international significance (Zion from St. Sophia Cathedral, the 12th century). Signed works of that time are a great rarity -- as, for example, the craters of masters Kosta and Bratila (12th century) and the panagiarion by master Ivan (15th century). The collection offers works prepared in all kinds of techniques, known and used in medieval Byzantium, Russia and Western Europe: plique-a-jour, filigree, graining, stamping, basma embossing, enamel filigree, Limoges enamel, etc.
