The Novgorod State United Museum and Reserve is a large association with a well-developed network of branches located in four towns of the region: the Valdai, Borovitchi, Staraya Russa and the Chudovo regions.

All branches, both historical and memorial, are well-stocked and are and are constantly expanding and improving their collections. Each of them has its own history. Despite the centralization they have managed to preserve their individuality and unique local character. Each of them is a center for research work and cultural life of the city and region, and the object of pride of the local population.

Convenient locations of the majority of branches make them attractive targets for both Russian and foreign tourists. The museum branches receive up to 60,000 visitors annually.
